How far does your money go?

                     Being AMEN Ambassadors

AMEN Ambassadors are people who share the AMEN vision and want to promote this within their own churches and in other churches in their locality.

AMEN Ambassadors are volunteers and will normally be known personally by one or more of the Trustees. The strength of the AMEN team is the close personal relationships which we have with each other.

What is AMEN?

During his work for Operation Mobilisation, Gareth Bolton was moved by the plight of people in developing countries who are struggling to serve God with limited resources. It was for that reason that he set up the charity AMEN. From very small beginnings supporting one couple in India, AMEN is today partnering with many different ministries worldwide. Winston is giving basic medication and Bible studies on the Manila rubbish tips, John and Asha are caring for orphans in the Bombay slums, Tassie and her friends are ministering to people affected by HIV-AIDS in Nigeria, and so on.

AMEN is a conduit through which much needed finance can be channelled to those who the Trustees know will use it wisely. There are five distinctive characteristics of AMEN

  1.  We support specifically Christian ministries, most of which provide very practical help

  2.  All those we support work in their own countries and are personally known by Gareth Bolton and other trustees

  3.  All the money donated to AMEN goes to those supported, except for essential postage, bank charges and presentation materials

  4.  All the AMEN team are unpaid volunteers

  5. Support is not just financial, but also includes regular contact, practical advice, and personal visits

Amen Ambassadors:

  1. Publicise and promote AMEN within their churches and their area and their friends - including encouraging people to give and either being willing to give short presentations to people  or arranging opportunities for Trustees to go to a meeting.

  2. Contribute ideas about how AMEN could be more effective

  3. Make suggestions as to how we can continue to help existing supporters to feel involved.

  4. Be a local point of contact to supporters or any others who have questions about AMEN in their area - able to answer basic questions

  5. Help host visitors from overseas
