More than Conquerors |
|
|
Everywhere we look today we see disharmony, discord, anxiety, fears, depression, and indiscipline. These, and many other troubles, are indicators that the Devil is alive and well on the Earth and is busy disturbing both society and individuals.
Christians can become particular targets for him and they need to discover ways in which their lives might become victorious despite his goading.
II hope that those who read this book might understand the reasons for their trials a little more and may see the way in which to become conquerors, thus bringing glory to the name of our Lord and Saviour, Jesus Christ.

The following is an extract from the chapter titles "The Captain of our Salvation" ...
During several periods of personal struggle, the
author had the privilege of receiving a picture from the Lord which helped
her to put her struggles into context. This picture came more than once
when the going became tough. It seems right to share it with you for the
picture is true for every Christian in every age. The scene was as
follows. The author saw herself in a war. There were two lines
of opposing armies drawn up on a field of battle. – it looked a bit
medieval as some were on horseback and all in armour. The army facing us
were all in black. In fact, it was impossible to pick out anyone or
anything in particular as it was so dark on that side. The Christian side,
on the other hand, were in the light, dressed in white and some on white
horses. This would be thrilling enough, but in the centre rode our
Captain. He was mighty and on a much bigger horse than ours. He was head
and shoulders above the rest you might say. In His hand He held a banner.
What a privilege to be in that assembly, even if, like the author, you saw
yourself as a humble soldier. My friend, if you have problems as you read this,
then see yourself as in the army of the Living God. You, as a Christian,
are called to the highest service in the land; to fight for the honour of
God. Not your honour, not your Church’s honour, but GOD’S HONOUR is at
stake when you come to trials and temptations. For this age-long battle is
primarily one where Satan and his armies are out to rob God of His glory.
Time and again we read in the Bible:
“The battle is not yours but God’s”
2 Chronicles 20 verse 15 So what must we as Christians do to fulfil our part as soldiers of the Lord?
