Reginald and Caroline - Vision for Christ

News - March 2007

India is a vast country and the world's second most populated nation. It is filled to the brim with people. Nearly 16.7% of the world's population live in India. In other words, one out of every 6 persons in the world live in India. The present population is estimated to be 1.1 billions. By the year 2020, India will become the world's most populated country.

Indians are highly religious. 80% of the people worship idols of various kinds. Their worship is of most unbelievable devotion and sacrifice. But a majority of the people have their hearts open for the Gospel. With the Christian population of just 2.4%, how is it ever going to be possible to share the love of Christ with these millions and millions of ignorant souls? How can we do that as fast & as wide as possible? It seems that the gates of freedom for the gospel are slowly beginning to close with several States passing the legislation to bring a ban on religious 'conversion'.

India as a nation produces more films than anywhere else in the world. Actually over 900 full-length feature films are made every year. And out of the whole of India there's one place that produces more films than anywhere else & that is Tamil Nadu. In this State (where people would watch daily serials in the Television, despite earthquakes) the government, politics & life-styles are designed by films. We believe that God has chosen us and our friends, from a remote corner of Tamil Nadu, to use this 'passion' as a vehicle for impacting a huge number with the good news of the Gospel of Jesus through the media.

After producing 256 episodes of "Jolly Time", in obedience to the Master's call, we now have expanded our vision to reach out to the other language groups of India and the neighbouring countries. The process of dubbing 4 dramas into Sinhala, the language of Sri Lanka, the land that is tormented by war & natural calamities, is on.

In 2007, we are committed to serve the people in Orissa, the state where Graham Stains, the Australian missionary was burnt alive with his two sons. This state( located in Central India) which has a population of 31.6 million people has more than 50000 villages & most of them do not even have electricity & India's most backward tribe, the Upper Bondos, with just a loin cloth for their attire, live in the mountains of Southern Orissa.

We are recording songs & dramas that tell the Gospel in their own language & on completion, we hope to hand over copies of the video to missionaries of all organisations to be used in their mission fields & to gain entry into new ones.

We are now getting calls from missionaries of other Northern states to come & help them in the same fashion.

The opportunities are plenty but the challenges are greater.

You might be thinking, "how can I help?"

Firstly, you can pray. We need all the prayer that can be raised for this ministry.

Secondly, "The harvest is plentiful but the labourers are few". You can choose to come & work with us. We need a lot of Technical people.

Thirdly, the needs are colossal. You can give through AMEN as the Lord leads you.

We invite you to get in touch with us in India
