Introduction to VMM

Education of village children

Education of Village children

"My name is Muthu Lakshmi and I live in the village of Kokalanchery. Our family occupation is farming. I have two younger brothers. Ten years back Brother David Ganesan came to our village and preached the gospel to us. I have been the part of the prayer cell from that time. For many years brother has been helping me to continue my education. Few years back my parents tried to give me in marriage. Brother came and counselled my parents and assured them that he will help me in my higher studies. Last year my father died of cancer. But with the help from VMM I have thus far finished bachelor degree in Maths. I wish to study further M.C.A. Please pray for me".

"My name is Salome and I am the second of the three sisters. My father sells candies in a bicycle in villages. The culture of our village is that a girl doesn't need education. But missionaries from VMM has counselled my parents and helped me to continue my studied. I desire to study M.Ed. Please pray for me".

J Santhosh of VMM writes:

"By the grace of God thus for we are reaching more than 7000 children and 3000 youths every week in the 220 villages we minister. As our missionaries meet them every week, these children and youths are growing in all spiritual disciplines and are good witnesses for the gospel in their respective villages.

One sad thing we notice among these youths; just for the want of money for admission fees and buying notebooks many quit education and go to work in hotels, matchbox industries, shops etc. There they are cut off from our fellowship and many get into various bad habits. At such time we worry that the complete fruitfulness of the ministry was hindered.

To overcome this the leaders in VMM decided something. So yearly we do all that we can do to help them to continue their education. For some we pay the initial amount needed for every academic year. For some we take care of expenses for the whole year.

At this time we wish to thank you for showing interest in this area of great need. The following list shows the need of this year. It was compiled by the needs presented by our missionaries from their respective fields.

1)The number of school students who need aid are 160. For every student the average initial amount needed is around £30 per annum

2)The number of higher study students who need aid are 28. For every student the average initial need is £120 per annum.

3)At this point we wish to put forward two special request:
One is for the educational need of the children of our missionaries kids. The total need is around

  £500.
The second request is for four specific youths education. These belong to the village of Kokkalanchery

which is the first village our founder Bro. David Ganesan ministered. These five were like foundation

to this ministry in that they were the members of the first prayer cell for this ministry.

  Their needs are as follows:
  a) Muthulakshmi-Rs.1,20,000 for studying M.C.A. She lost her father  one year back and family tried

to give her in marriage immediately. After our counselling her mother accepted to send her for

      education.
  b) Joseph-Rs.60,000 for studying B.E.
  c) Salomi-Rs.70,000 for studying M.Ed.
  d) Selvam-Rs.25,000 for doing M.Phil.

Please help as much as possible to give these children a future.
